My first love of stained glass started when I left high school and ventured to England for the first time by myself for a month. I visited a lot of churches and was amazed at the flow of light coming through the stained glass windows. I could not get enough of it, and came home dreaming of glass.

The next few years I dreamt of having a studio, but life had other plans, and I ended up getting married and raising a family. My husband, Rory did create a little work area for me in my house that was 4x8 by the furnace, and I was so grateful to have a start.

When we moved to Grande Prairie with our two sons, the first thing he did was build me a workshop in the basement (even before getting his garage). Raising my boys gave me the opportunity to work in my shop and create artwork that I was able to sell through small markets and then I opened a studio in the Creative Arts Centre in Grande Prairie to start teaching.

I have always loved the ocean, and now that I live in Qualicum Beach only a few minutes away from the ocean I’m inspired to create even more.
